Wilson College Reunion - Saturday, 17 May 2025 - Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA

Breakfast at the hotel with Sally and Bob before heading off to campus. It is always such enlightening time to hear President Fugate speak at the State of the College address. This year, especially, there was good news about new programs and increased enrollment.

After his address the AAWC held its annual meeting. For the first time in 7 years, I didn't have to take the minutes or worry about the quorum, voting, etc. I loved being on the Board, but was glad to relinquish the secretarial duties. The meeting went without controversy for the first time in a number of years.

It was good timing that  right after the meeting was over, Amy arrived. She had been very instrumental in helping with completing the application for the award and I was so honored to have her come. She finally got to meet Becky in person and also President Fugate and VP Zimmann.  And what a surprise, Casey made it to the luncheon. I had been coaxing her for weeks and she kept saying she wouldn't be able to make it. It brought tears to my eyes, for sure. We assembled for the parade of classes before the luncheon, which was, as usual, very nicely done.

It was announced that the Class of 1970 had won the cup for the most class members in attendance. Yay Us!

After the luncheon we posed for our class picture on the steps of the Chapel. Our green certainly made a hit at the reunion.

We then had our class meeting during which we elected the same officers that we had had during the previous 3 years since the last reunion. I will continue as secretary and class correspondent, a job I have had since 1990! Earle and Amy went to the Hankey Center and then hung around until we were done and then to the Awards presentation.

It really was such and emotional time. To see all my classmates who had come to support me and give me a standing ovation was just incredible. The award was presented by Cindy Barber with remarks by Becky. It was a moment that I will never forget, EVER!

We said good-bye to Amy who had the 3 hour drive back to Pittsburgh and headed to the hotel to change clothes for dinner. It was then back to campus for our class dinner. We had hoped to have it in the Patterson lounge, but the AC had failed and also we had more than the lounge could accommodate. So it was in Laird. I got the slide show set up on the computer and everyone had some libation and enjoyed looking at the class pictures - nearly 700 of them.

Dinner was scrumptious and we all enjoyed some good conversation.

We then headed back to the hotel and changed clothes for fire-pit time. What fun to sit around with a glass of wine and just chat. It has been 59 years since we first met each other in the fall of 1966, but it seems like we can catch up so easily. This is what a women's college can do for friendships.

Back to the room, only to find out that the Pirates lost another to the Phillies. 5-2!
