Friends and a Conference - Friday, 23 May 2025 - Louisville

Unfortunately, Barbara had to go to work today so the three of us had a leisurely breakfast. Patches, an adorable ittle cat was waiting for us when we can down.

About 10:30 headed downtown to the Galt House, conference headquarters to do a reconnaissance run as far as parking and to pick up my registration materials so that i wouldn't have to do that on Saturday. It was an easy drive with very little traffic so I was encouraged that it would be even less on Saturday.

Headed back to the house with just enough time to regroup before heading out to lunch to meet my cousin Karen for lunch. She had picked out a lovely place for us to meet, actually downstairs from where she works - 21 Clover Lane in the St. Matthews area.

Earle had French onion soup and a fish sandwich. I had a chicken salad. Ed, Karen's husband, joined us just as we were being served and they really expedited his food. For dessert it was key lime tart! Such a pleasant time catching up with family members.

Back home and Barbara got to the house just about the same time we did. She and I then made a quick trip to the Bluegrass Outlet Shoppes in Simpsonville. I was looking for a discontinued pattern/style purse at Vera Bradley and she was looking for a pair of Skechers. Neither of us bought anything!

Back to their house and making a decision of where to eat over a glass of wine. We decided on Mussels and Burgers, one of my favorite places in Louisville and not too far from their house.

Charles ordered a starter to share of Korean Wings. Earle had the Good Ole Bacon Burger and I had the Mussels in curry cream. Just delicious as usual.  Have been neglectful about food photos recently. Will have to remedy that.

Back to the house where we watched a bit of TV - Charles is into the series White Collar so we watched a few episodes of that before heading to bed.  Decided to listen to the Pirates for a bit. What a game to come back in the bottom of the 9th to beat the Braves 6-5!
